Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Pawnomics, our books and our mission.

What age group are Pawnomics books designed for?

Our books are primarily designed for children ages 4 to 8, but many parents and educators tell us they enjoy reading them too. The stories are layered so that younger children connect with the animal characters while older children begin to understand the financial concepts woven into the narrative.

Are the animals in the books real?

Yes. Every character in a Pawnomics book is a real rescued animal. Their portraits are faithful watercolor illustrations that preserve their actual anatomy, fur patterns, proportions and unique characteristics. We never create caricatures. Their stories are based on their real rescue and rehabilitation histories.

Are the books available in both Spanish and English?

Yes. Every Pawnomics book is published bilingually from day one, in both Spanish and English. We believe financial literacy has no borders, and families should be able to read in the language that feels most natural at home.

How do the books teach financial concepts?

Financial concepts are never taught directly. Instead, they emerge naturally from the story. A tortoise who saves a coin teaches patience. A cat who learns to share teaches generosity. Children absorb these lessons emotionally through the narrative, making the understanding deeper and more lasting than any textbook approach.

Are there educator resources available?

Yes. Every book includes a companion educator guide with discussion questions, classroom activities and curriculum alignment notes. These resources are designed for teachers, homeschoolers and after-school programs. They are available for free download in both languages.

Are the books accessible for children with disabilities?

Accessibility is a core value of Pawnomics. Our books and website follow WCAG 2.2 AA standards. We use clear layouts, scalable typography, high contrast text, semantic structure and descriptive language. Our designs minimize cognitive load and are suitable for neurodivergent learners, children with dyslexia, ADHD and other cognitive differences.
