Our Story

Every story begins with a rescue

Pawnomics was born from a simple belief: that the animals who save us have stories worth teaching with.

It started with 12 real characters (6 ferrets, 2 cats and 4 dogs), each with their own personality, colors and quirks. Eliseo the curious albino ferret, Gaia the calm mentor, Baco the impulsive cinnamon ferret, Athenea the strategist, Louise the observer, and Elsa the unique spirit.

Then the dogs: Lau the social English Setter, Julio the entrepreneurial Mastiff, Althea the protective Labrador (in memory), and Pascal the observant Basset mix (in memory). And the cats: Penelope the creative white cat, and Boston the patient tricolor queen.

Pawnomics is more than a book series. It is a publishing brand built on the conviction that financial literacy should begin early, be taught beautifully, and always be rooted in the real personalities of the animals we love.

What we believe

Stories Over Spreadsheets

Children learn through narrative. We wrap financial concepts in stories they want to read again and again.

Real Animals, Real Stories

Every character is a real animal. We never create caricatures: we preserve their dignity and unique identity.

Premium & Timeless

Museum-quality watercolor illustrations printed on the finest materials. Books designed to be kept, gifted and passed down.

Inclusive by Design

Accessible for neurodivergent learners, beginning readers, and diverse classrooms. Every child belongs in our stories.

Bilingual from Day One

Every page, every book, every resource: available in Spanish and English. Because financial literacy has no borders.

Built to Grow

Our visual identity and book template system supports dozens of future books without redesign. The brand grows as the stories grow.

Our rescue partners

Every animal in our books comes from a real rescue organization. We work directly with shelters and sanctuaries to tell their stories with accuracy, respect and love. A portion of every book sale supports the organizations that made these stories possible.
